In 2008 the Shaftesbury PACT committee (Partners and Communities Together) held a combined exercise with the Police, Dorset Fire and Rescue, the Ambulance Service and Dorset County Highways. The aim of the exercise was to try and combat a growing occurrence of road traffic collisions, especially amongst younger drivers.
Photographer James Thrift covered the incredibly lifelike real time reconstruction of what happens after a serious road accident, and the images resulted in Shaftesbury PACT the 2008 Justice Award for a Team Engaging Communities.
